Disney Cruise Line allows guests  to modify or upgrade their staterooms on various ships based on eligibility and certain restrictions. If a guest’s stateroom meets the eligibility criteria, they can modify it easily by logging into their “My Cruise Reservations” page and clicking on “View Details” next to the cruise listing. Modifications can be made by upgrading the room or changing the stateroom category, type, or location. For bookings with multiple rooms, guests are required to change each stateroom individually and the ability to modify or upgrade is subject to availability. Guests who book through a travel agent should contact their agent to make necessary changes and note that any changes to the stateroom will impact the price of their trip.

Celebrity Cruises allows guests to bid for a stateroom upgrade using Celebrity MoveUp on eligible cruises. To check whether a cruise is eligible for an upgrade, guests can enter the last name of the first guest and reservation ID on the Celebrity MoveUp page. If eligible, guests can browse through the various available stateroom options and put in an amount they are willing to pay for an upgrade for each stateroom category. The cruise line advises guests to bid for multiple rooms, to increase chances of getting a bid accepted, but assures guests they will only have to pay if the offer has been accepted. An offer can be accepted up to two  days prior to departure and guests will be notified by email whether their offer has been accepted. If the offer has been accepted, the card used to bid for the room will be charged automatically. The additional charges for upgraded staterooms only apply to the first and second guests, but solo travelers must pay double the price for an accepted bid.
